JA Solar — solar panels from a world-class manufacturer

JA Solar is one of the world's largest manufacturers of solar cells and photovoltaic modules. Over the past two decades, the company has grown from a supplier of silicon wafers to a vertically integrated concern whose products are available in more than 175 countries around the world. For the buyer, this means a rational combination of proven reliability, high efficiency and adequate price - equally suitable for a private house, a commercial roof, and an industrial solar station.

History and development path

The company was founded in 2005 in Ningjin County, Hebei Province, China. Its founder, Jin Baofang, had entered the photovoltaics industry in 1996, producing silicon rods and wafers, so the new company immediately relied on deep engineering expertise. Within a year, in 2006, JA Solar set a world record for solar cell efficiency of 17.8%, and in 2007, it went public on the NASDAQ exchange under the ticker JASO, quickly becoming the largest solar cell manufacturer in China.

Then the production chain was expanded consistently and logically: in 2010, the company added the production of finished modules, and in 2012, the construction of solar power plants. This created full vertical integration - from silicon to a turnkey plant, which provides control over quality and cost at every stage. In 2019, JA Solar was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (code 002459). In 2025, the brand celebrated its 20th anniversary: total module shipments exceeded 317 GW as of the end of the third quarter.

Global recognition and a place among the leaders

JA Solar is consistently ranked among the world's largest solar module manufacturers. In 2024, the company joined the so-called "Big Four" (F4) of global manufacturers alongside JinkoSolar, LONGi, and Trina Solar, with annual module shipments of about 79 GW. In the first half of 2025, the authoritative analytical agency Wood Mackenzie ranked JA Solar at the top of its global module manufacturer ranking (tied for first place with Trina Solar), scoring the company 91.7 out of 100.

The brand has been listed in the Fortune China 500 and Global Top 500 New Energy Enterprises for years, and its network covers dozens of production sites and sales offices around the world. For the station owner, this is fundamentally important: behind the panels stands a financially stable player capable of fulfilling warranty obligations throughout the entire 25-year service life of the equipment.

Equipment range

The brand's flagship line is the DeepBlue series of photovoltaic modules, the evolution of which well illustrates the company's technological level:

  • DeepBlue 3.0 — modules based on proven PERC technology, which at one time established the brand's reputation in the "reliability for reasonable money" segment.
  • DeepBlue 4.0 / 4.0 Pro — transition to N-type TOPCon elements: higher efficiency, less degradation, better performance in heat and low light.
  • DeepBlue 5.0 — a new generation based on Bycium+ 5.0 elements, introduced in 2025. Power — up to 670 W, module efficiency — up to 24.8%, degradation in the first year ≤1% and no more than 0.4% each year thereafter. One of the most efficient serial products in its class.

In addition to the panels themselves, JA Solar produces silicon wafers and cells, battery energy storage systems (BESS) for residential and commercial segments, as well as specialized modules for challenging environments — desert, coastal, mountainous, and typhoon-prone regions, as well as anti-glare, lightweight, and fire-resistant solutions.

Awards and quality assurance

JA Solar's quality is confirmed not by advertising promises, but by independent testing laboratories:

  • Kiwa PVEL “Top Performer”. In the annual PV Module Reliability Scorecard from the independent laboratory PVEL, the brand’s modules have been in the highest “Top Performer” category for years. In 2025, the DeepBlue 4.0 Pro module received this distinction for the tenth time in a row – a result only available to a few manufacturers.
  • Bloomberg New Energy Finance Tier 1. JA Solar is classified as the highest Tier 1 reliability level by BloombergNEF, the main benchmark for banks and investors regarding a manufacturer's financial stability.
  • TÜV Rheinland. The brand's modules have been awarded with awards for real energy generation (Energy Yield Simulation AQM Award).

Why choose JA Solar

For the owner of a solar station, three things matter: how much energy the panel will produce, how long it will work without noticeable loss of power, and whether there will be anyone to answer for the warranty in 10–20 years. JA Solar provides the answer to all three questions - with modern TOPCon technology, confirmed by independent tests for reliability and the status of one of the world leaders in the industry. That is why these panels are bought with equal confidence both for a private roof and for megawatt power plants.
