FOX ESS P100-8-H is an all-in-one storage system with an 8 kW inverter and a built-in 10.24 kWh LiFePO₄ battery. Within the P100 range this model sits in the middle: the battery is identical to the smaller version, while power has risen by a third. What the extra cost buys when capacity is unchanged
This is the central question when choosing within the range, and it is worth understanding before you buy. Capacity determines how long the system will sustain the house. Power determines what it can sustain at once.
Eight kilowatts instead of six adds not a single minute of autonomy at the same load. What it does add is two kilowatts of instantaneous power — and those two kilowatts are usually exactly what is missing when the oven, the kettle and the pump station all switch on together.
When six kilowatts genuinely falls short
Several typical situations show where the smaller model starts to constrain:
the house has a heat pump — its starting current and running load consume most of a 6 kW budget;

Mounting is wall or floor; if you choose the wall option, account for 113 kg — a light partition will not carry that load.
A practical note on the backed-up group
Even with an eight-kilowatt system it makes sense to split loads into two groups: a critical one that is always powered and a secondary one that can be shed. This is not a sign of a weak system but standard engineering practice — it extends autonomy several times over and protects against the situation where someone switches on a heavy appliance and flattens the battery within an hour.
