GoodWe GW102.4-BAT-AC-G10 - energy storage system 102.4 kW / 100 kWh.
Description GoodWe GW102.4-BAT-AC-G10
GoodWe GW102.4-BAT-AC-G10 is a commercial outdoor energy storage system: 102.4 kW of power and 100 kWh of capacity in a single cabinet. The battery section is built on LiFePO₄ cells with a 512 V operating voltage, charge current reaching 180 A and discharge 220 A. Dimensions 1055 × 2000 × 1055 mm, mass up to 1310 kg, IP55 protection.
Air cooling and why it matters
Unlike passive systems, this one uses active air cooling. That design decision directly affects how much the system can deliver without derating.
Passive convection works well at moderate currents, but during a sustained discharge near maximum the cells heat up and protection begins to limit output. Forced airflow holds temperature within the working range, so the stated 102.4 kW remains available not for a few minutes but for as long as the energy reserve allows. The price is the presence of fans — an assembly that needs periodic checking.
Built-in fire suppression
The system is fitted with an automatic fire suppression installation. For 100 kWh of storage that is not an option but a practical necessity: the presence of such protection is most often the deciding argument when approving equipment placement and when insuring the site.
Suppression operates inside the cabinet and responds locally, so no separate fire protection design is needed for a room — all the more so because no room is required here at all.
Temperature range for year-round operation
The stated operating range runs from −20 to +55 °C. For a system standing in the open that is a defining characteristic: it determines whether the storage will work through winter without additional measures.
Combined with IP55 protection this makes a complete outdoor solution. You build no structure, design no ventilation and spend no production floor area — the cabinet goes onto a prepared pad and works all year.
The power-to-capacity ratio
A hundred and two kilowatts against a hundred kilowatt-hours means roughly an hour of operation at full load. This is a configuration aimed primarily at working with peak loads rather than at extended autonomy.
Typical use is shaving daily maxima to avoid paying for inflated connected capacity, and intercepting the starting currents of heavy equipment. If the task is instead to sustain a site for several hours at a stretch, systems with a larger energy reserve at the same power rating are worth considering.
Site preparation
A mass of up to 1310 kg calls for a level concrete base with adequate load capacity and access for unloading equipment. Cable routes to the switchgear are planned in advance — moving them after the cabinet is installed is awkward and expensive.
The system is certified to IEC 62619 and UN 38.3 and carries CE marking. Add these documents to the project file straight away: they are requested both for insurance and for coordination with the network operator.
To establish whether this configuration suits your site we need a daily load curve and your tariff plan. Send those over and we will calculate the real saving and show how long the system takes to pay for itself.
