GoodWe GW125/261-ESA-LCN-G10 - liquid-cooled energy storage system 125 kW / 261 kWh.
Description GoodWe GW125/261-ESA-LCN-G10
GoodWe GW125/261-ESA-LCN-G10 is an industrial energy storage system with liquid cooling: 125 kW of power and 261.25 kWh of capacity. The battery is assembled from 314 Ah LFP modules (52.25 kWh each) and runs at a high 832 V across a 676–936 V window. Charge and discharge current is 198.5 A. Outdoor IP55 construction, mass 2580 kg.
Liquid cooling is the defining difference
The overwhelming majority of storage on the market is air-cooled: either by passive convection or by fans. A liquid circuit is a different level of solution, and it appears where serious demands are placed on energy density and operational stability.
The advantages follow from physics. Liquid removes heat many times more effectively than air, so cells work within a narrower and more even temperature range. Two consequences follow, both financial: the system holds full power without derating even in hot weather, and an even thermal regime slows cell degradation, meaning the battery retains its capacity longer.
UL9540A certification — what it actually means
Among the standards listed, UL9540A stands out. It is not an ordinary conformity certificate but a test protocol for thermal runaway propagation: the system is deliberately driven into a fault condition and the structure's behaviour is documented.
For a customer that carries entirely practical value. Holding UL9540A substantially simplifies approval of the storage location and the conversation with an insurer — it is precisely this document that justifies clearances to buildings and the absence of additional fire-protection structures. The system also carries automatic fire suppression and complies with IEC 62619 and UN 38.3.
A high 832 V bus
The battery's operating voltage here is among the highest in the segment. At 125 kW of power that holds current at 198.5 A — roughly the same as in systems of half the power at lower voltage.
The practical conclusion is simple: the power side requires no extraordinary engineering. Cable cross-section, protective device ratings and busbars remain within reasonable limits, and resistive losses in the conductors stay low.
More than two hours at full power
A ratio of 261.25 kWh to 125 kW gives more than two hours of operation at maximum. This is a balanced configuration, suitable both for peak shaving and for shifting consumption between tariff bands.
The battery's modular construction — five blocks of 52.25 kWh — brings another practical benefit: servicing and diagnostics are carried out at module level rather than across the whole system.
Site requirements
A mass of 2580 kg and dimensions of 1050 × 2250 × 1400 mm define the preparation: a level concrete base with verified load capacity, crane access, and a delivery route walked in advance.
The liquid circuit adds one more item to the maintenance schedule — checking coolant level and condition. It is not a complex procedure, but it must be in the plan, so establish the intervals from the manufacturer's documentation at the outset.
Systems of this class are not specified from a catalogue. Send us a load profile, tariff plan and redundancy requirements — we will prepare a calculation with payback and compare it against air-cooled systems, so that the price difference is justified for you.
