GoodWe GW6000N-EH - single-phase hybrid inverter 6 kW.
Description GoodWe GW6000N-EH
GoodWe GW6000N-EH is a 6 kW single-phase hybrid inverter for working with high-voltage lithium batteries. Two independent MPPT inputs with a range of 100–550 V, battery charge and discharge current up to 25 A, generator support. Weight 17 kg, dimensions 354 × 433 × 147 mm, protection class IP65, 5-year warranty.
How does a hybrid inverter differ from a grid-connected one?
This is a fundamental difference, and it is here that people often make mistakes when choosing. A grid-connected inverter converts the energy from the panels and feeds it into the grid and the load. When the light goes out, it stops — even if the sun is shining and the panels are ready to work. This is a safety requirement: the inverter is not allowed to power a grid where repairmen are working.
A hybrid inverter can do the same thing plus two extra things. It manages the battery — charging it in excess and discharging it when needed. And it can create its own grid for your loads when the external one is gone.
In simple words: a grid inverter saves money, a hybrid also keeps the lights on in the house during a power outage.
Generator support is a rare and useful feature
Not every hybrid inverter can work correctly with a gasoline or diesel generator. This option is provided here, and for Ukrainian realities it has a very specific value.
The scenario looks like this: in winter, several cloudy days in a row, the panels produce almost nothing, the battery is discharged, there is no grid. Without a generator, the system will simply stop after a few hours. With a generator, the inverter starts it, charges the battery to the required level and turns it off - after which the house is powered by the battery again, quietly and without fuel consumption.
This mode is more economical than direct operation from a generator: the engine operates in short cycles under optimal load, rather than around the clock at low power.
MPPT accuracy 99.9%
This is one of the highest rates in the segment. Maximum power point tracking determines how much energy the inverter is actually taking from the panels at any given moment.
Lighting conditions are constantly changing: cloud, sun angle, panel heating. The device with 99.9% tracking accuracy loses virtually no energy during these transitions. Combined with a maximum efficiency of 97.6% and a European efficiency of 97.0%, this gives a high actual output, not just a good figure in the specification.
Technical basis
two independent MPPT inputs, range 100–550 V;
working with high-voltage lithium-ion batteries;
charge and discharge current up to 25 A in both directions;
nominal output current 26.1 A, maximum 27.3 A;
built-in DC switch, panel connection via MC4;
IP65 protection class - outdoor installation.
What to consider when designing
The inverter is designed for high-voltage batteries. This is important: low-voltage modules of 48 or 51.2 V will not work with it, and the storage device must be selected specifically for this requirement. The list of compatible batteries is in the manufacturer's documentation.
The second thing is load distribution. Six kilowatts is enough for most homes, but it's worth backing up not all the wiring, but the critical group: lighting, refrigerator, boiler, pump, communications. It's wiser to leave powerful heaters and electric stoves out of the backup, otherwise the battery will run out in an hour.
A hybrid system is always a combination of three elements: an inverter, a battery, and a load sharing scheme. Write to us what exactly should work during a power outage and for how many hours - we will calculate the battery capacity and tell you whether six kilowatts will be enough.
