GoodWe GW3600-SBP-20 - single-phase hybrid inverter 3.6 kW.
Description GoodWe GW3600-SBP-20
GoodWe GW3600-SBP-20 is a single-phase hybrid inverter rated at 3.6 kW for low-voltage LiFePO₄ batteries operating at 40–60 V. The model's defining feature is a charge and discharge current of up to 100 amperes — four times the typical figure in this class. Mass 19.5 kg, generator support, 5-year warranty.
A hundred amperes: why so much at 3.6 kW
This ratio looks odd only at first glance. An inverter's power rating determines how much it delivers to the household. Charge current determines something different — how quickly the system fills and empties the battery.
At 48 volts, a hundred amperes corresponds to roughly 4.8 kilowatts of flow into the battery. In other words, storage can be charged faster than the inverter supplies the load. That is not excess but a concrete advantage in two scenarios.
The first is charging from the grid on a night tariff. The system can gather a full reserve within a few hours of the cheap band rather than stretching the process across the whole night. The second is rapid recovery after an outage: when power returns for an hour, the system recharges substantially rather than symbolically.
A low-voltage battery: wider choice and an easier start
The model works with storage at 40–60 volts — the most widespread format on the market. The practical consequence for a buyer is an enormous choice of compatible batteries from various manufacturers and, as a rule, a lower price per kilowatt-hour than high-voltage solutions.
The second advantage is ease of expansion. Low-voltage modules are usually added in parallel one at a time, with no rigid requirements on quantity. Start with two, add a third a year later — the system accepts the change without reconfiguring the power side.
There is a reverse side too: at the same power, current in the cable between battery and inverter is higher than in high-voltage schemes. That means thicker cable and a requirement to place storage as close to the inverter as possible.
What generator support delivers
The inverter can control an external generator: starting it when required, charging the battery and shutting it down. Combined with a 100 A charge current, this function comes into its own.
The logic is simple: the faster the system charges the battery, the less time the generator runs. Instead of droning for half a day at light load, the engine works a short intensive session under optimal load and stops. That means fuel savings, less engine wear and considerably less noise for you and your neighbours.

Who this model suits
Primarily those whose outages are long and unpredictable while charging windows are short. Fast charging turns every hour of mains availability into a real energy reserve.
Also those planning to work actively with a night tariff: the difference between night and day electricity prices only pays off when the system can fill the battery within the cheap band.
And those who already have a generator or plan one: the combination of fast charging plus a generator gives the shortest engine running time for the same amount of stored energy.
To establish whether you need this charge rate, two numbers matter: how long a typical outage lasts in your area and how much time the mains is available between them. Write to us — we will work out whether paying extra for fast charging is justified in your case.
