A dome hides the direction it's pointed — and that's an advantage

Unlike a turret or bullet camera, the dome housing of the DomeCam Mini HL doesn't let anyone tell which way the lens is actually aimed under its tinted cover. For a shop entrance, a stairwell, an office corridor, or a reception desk, that works differently from an openly aimed camera: people see they're being monitored, but can't pinpoint the blind spot or the angle that stays out of frame. Its compact size (114×67 mm, 430 g) lets you mount it on a ceiling or wall without turning the room into a visibly "surveilled" space.

5 MP in a housing that doesn't stand out

Inside the small dome sits the same 5 MP sensor and 2.8 mm lens found in the larger models in the lineup: a wide field of view, detail sufficient to identify a face at close range, and H.264/H.265 encoding for efficient archive compression. The compact shell doesn't mean a compromise on image quality — it's simply a different mechanical form built for a different mounting spot.

Smart filtering instead of a wall of motion clips

DomeCam Mini HL distinguishes people, vehicles, and animals when analyzing the frame, so alerts come in for genuine events rather than every twitch in the picture — particularly useful indoors in high-traffic spots: a corridor, a waiting area, a retail floor, where motion is constant and, without classification, notifications quickly become noise.

PoE simplifies a ceiling installation

Power over Ethernet (12 V, around 7.2 W) is especially convenient for ceiling mounts: one cable run through conduit or drywall, with no need to bring a separate 220 V line up to the mounting point. On a site with several cameras per floor — an office, a shop, a stairwell — this also lets you consolidate everything onto a single PoE switch instead of scattered power adapters.

A 15-meter illumination range matched to the job

An effective illumination distance of 15 m is sized for an indoor space or a small yard, not a hundred-meter open perimeter — and that's a deliberate trade-off: in a corridor, entrance, or small courtyard, extra illumination power would only overexpose the frame and draw unwanted attention, while 15 m fully covers the typical coverage zone for this kind of spot.

IP66 protection even on an "indoor" camera

Although the DomeCam Mini HL is often installed indoors, its IP66 rating and -30°C to +55°C operating range mean it holds up just as well under a porch canopy, in an unheated entryway, or on a balcony — spots with real humidity and temperature swings that don't quite call for a full outdoor-rated unit either.

One app alongside the rest of the Ajax system

Like the other cameras in the lineup, DomeCam Mini HL integrates with an Ajax hub: footage can be linked to a motion sensor or door contact trigger and reviewed in the same app on Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android that shows the status of the whole security system, with a choice of cloud or local (SD, up to 256 GB) storage.

Who this model is for

DomeCam Mini HL fits indoor spaces and semi-sheltered spots where full coverage matters, but you don't want the camera to become a visual focal point of the interior — while still getting the same image quality and analytics as an outdoor perimeter unit.
