Ajax Hub Hybrid (2G) — hybrid security control panel
Description Ajax Hub Hybrid (2G)
When it comes to choosing an alarm control panel, owners usually find themselves in a dilemma: a wireless system is installed quickly and without hassle, but on objects with thick walls or metal ceilings, the radio signal sometimes fails; a wired system is more reliable, but pulling cables through finished premises is expensive and time-consuming. Ajax Hub Hybrid (2G) eliminates this dilemma, because it combines both approaches in one housing - the wireless Jeweller protocol and the wired Fibra protocol.
In practice, this means that you don't have to choose in advance. Most sensors can be installed wirelessly, and in places where radio reception is poor - in the basement, server room, behind metal doors - you can install a wired Fibra loop. One control panel, two technologies, and the system does not fall apart into a "zoo" of devices from different manufacturers.
Why is it difficult to "blind" her?
The classic vulnerability of inexpensive alarms is the only communication channel. Cut the provider's cable or install a jammer, and the object is "silent". Hub Hybrid reports in three ways at once: two 2G SIM cards and wired Ethernet. If the Internet disappears, the control panel instantly switches to the mobile network and vice versa - to deprive it of voice, you would have to simultaneously cut the cable and jam both operators, and this is no longer a scenario for a random thief. Events are transmitted to the control panel using SIA, SurGard and other protocols, so connecting to a security company that already works according to these standards does not raise any unnecessary questions.
What scale is it designed for?
The control panel holds up to 100 Ajax devices, up to 25 cameras and up to 5 ReX repeaters, if you need to extend the radio to remote buildings. Up to 50 users, and the territory is divided into 9 security groups: the garage, basement and living rooms are turned on and off separately, without interfering with each other. There are 32 automation scenarios for everyday trifles - from turning on the light on alarm to controlling sockets. The radio radius in open areas reaches 2000 meters, the sensor polling period is adjustable from 12 to 300 seconds, and the control panel is powered by 110–240 V with a backup Li-ion battery in case of power outages.
Photo proof instead of guesswork
When the sensor is triggered, it is important to quickly understand whether it is a real intrusion or a cat has walked through the room. Photo verification sends a picture from the camera at the time of the alarm directly to the application, so both the owner and the security team see the picture even before the group leaves for the place. Fewer false alarms, faster response to a real threat. For integration with a smart home, there is a connection to Home Assistant via the SIA protocol (with limited functionality).
The Hub Hybrid (2G) is available in black and white, and along with new units, there are also used units: tested by service center engineers, fully functional and with the same manufacturer's warranty, only cheaper. The difference between a new and used unit mostly comes down to the condition of the box, so if you are building a system on a limited budget, a used unit will allow you to spend the savings on additional sensors. The condition of each specific unit is indicated in its card.
