DigiTOP VP-63A M2R — voltage relay, protection of the 220V network, (63A, red indicator)
Description DigiTOP VP-63A M2R
DigiTOP VP-63A M2R is a modification of the most powerful relay in the DigiTOP line with a red status indicator instead of a white one. The electrical part, protective thresholds and functionality are completely identical to the M2W model. The relay is designed for a rated load current of 63 A - this is the upper practical limit for single-phase connection of a household switchboard.
Operating principle and protective thresholds
The device continuously measures the 220 V mains voltage in the range of 50–400 V and disconnects the load when it exceeds the limits of 210–270 V (upper threshold) or 120–200 V (lower threshold). In case of overvoltage, the disconnection occurs in 0.02 seconds, and in case of undervoltage in the range of 120–170 V, the relay withstands a pause of 1 second before disconnecting to avoid false triggering.
Zero break protection
On panels with maximum load, for which this model is designed, the consequences of a broken neutral conductor are especially serious - all expensive appliances in the house are at risk at the same time: from the electric stove to climate control systems. DigiTOP VP-63A M2R monitors this situation in real time and de-energizes the load before damage occurs.
Installation and practical tips
The housing is designed for DIN-rail, takes up only 2 modules of 17.5 mm in the panel. The re-activation delay is adjustable within 5–600 seconds - on objects with several compressors (air conditioners, refrigeration equipment), this function prevents peak network load with simultaneous restart of all devices after power recovery.
Key specifications
- Rated load current — 63 A, maximum — 80 A
- Measured voltage — 50–400 V, indicator — red
- Upper cut-off limit — 210–270 V, lower — 120–200 V
- Re-activation delay time — 5–600 s (step 5 s)
- DIN form factor, 2 modules of 17.5 mm, IP20
- Manufacturer's warranty — 5 years
The rating of 63 A corresponds to approximately 14 kW at a voltage of 220 V - this is the maximum for a single-phase circuit, so before buying, you should check with an electrician whether it is not worth immediately switching to a three-phase panel with several DigiTOP relays. If the panel already uses devices of this series with a red indication, the VP-63A M2R is a direct analogue of the M2W model. ComfortLife managers will help you choose a complete set of protection for a specific object.
Practical tips for connection and maintenance
The relay is installed immediately after the input circuit breaker - the entire electrical network of the house is protected by one device, and not each line separately. On panels where several DigiTOP relays of different ratings are already operating, the selected indication color (in this case red) helps to quickly distinguish a specific device during maintenance or fault diagnosis. Before the first turn on, check the correct connection of the phase and neutral at the terminals - this is the most common cause of problems immediately after installation.
When to consider three-phase input
If the actual load is already approaching 63 A or there are plans for powerful devices such as an electric vehicle charging station, it is more advisable to immediately switch to a three-phase panel with a separate relay for each phase, rather than operating a single-phase circuit at the limit of its capabilities.
