This is a powerful 40 kW hybrid from the ET series, designed specifically for commercial and industrial facilities: it combines solar generation, energy storage in high-voltage batteries and backup power in one device. In essence, you get your own mini-power plant that earns from the sun during the day, is powered by the accumulator in the evening and at night, and does not let the enterprise stop during a network failure.

Hybrid inverter technology — and what it does for business

A hybrid inverter differs from a conventional grid-connected inverter in that it manages several energy flows simultaneously: from solar panels, to and from the battery, to the facility's load, and to the grid. The GW40K-ET-10 does this autonomously, choosing the most advantageous scenario every minute. Let's analyze the technologies behind this - and most importantly, what their practical benefits are.

High-voltage battery architecture (200–800 V)

The inverter works with high-voltage storage devices in the range of 200–800 V. What this means in practice: at a higher voltage, less current is required for the same power, and therefore, less cable losses and higher system efficiency, which reaches about 98%. In simple words, more of the stored energy reaches your consumers, and does not heat the wires. In addition, such an architecture is easily scalable in capacity to the actual consumption of a particular object.

Three MPPT trackers and 150% DC overload

Three independent MPPT inputs allow you to connect arrays of panels with different orientations — say, roof slopes to the east and west — and take the maximum from each without mutual losses. And the ability to set panels to 150% of the inverter's nominal value is not about risk, but about money: excess generation pulls the station in the morning, evening, winter and in cloudy weather, when the "flat" configuration barely works. As a result, the annual production and payback of the system increase noticeably.

110% unbalanced output

This is the technology that is underestimated until they deal with a real problem. On a three-phase facility, the load is almost never distributed evenly between the phases: a powerful single-phase machine, compressor or pump "hangs" on one, and smaller ones on the others. Many inverters in this mode drop power or go into a breakdown. GW40K-ET-10 withstands a skew of up to 110% and calmly gives more to the loaded phase. In practice, this means that your single-phase equipment will work even on reserve, and will not "fall" along with the network.

Smart energy management: peak shaving, tariff zones, return limit

The inverter is able to cut peak loads (peak shaving), work according to tariff zones (charging when energy is cheap and discharging during expensive hours), and automatically limit the return to the grid in accordance with the requirements of the regional energy authority. For businesses, this is direct money: less ordered capacity, lower bills, and no sanctions for exceeding the return limits.

UPS level reserve and generator operation

In combination with the STS static switch unit, the inverter provides uninterrupted power supply at the UPS level: when the network disappears, the facility switches to the battery with almost no pause, so servers, refrigeration equipment and production lines do not even have time to "blink". Moreover, the STS is able to control a diesel generator, automatically recharging the batteries during long outages. For Ukrainian realities with schedules and emergency power outages, this is perhaps the main argument in favor of a hybrid. (Please note: a full-fledged backup function is implemented together with the STS unit.)

Parallel work and scaling

If 40 kW later becomes insufficient, the inverters are combined in parallel — both in grid and offline mode, with a single backup load. That is, the system grows with the business, and you don't have to "throw away" the money you've already invested for an upgrade.
