GoodWe GW80K-SMT - three-phase grid-tied inverter 80 kW.
Description GoodWe GW80K-SMT
GoodWe GW80K-SMT is a three-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 80 kW with six MPPT inputs of two strings each (twelve strings total), a maximum input voltage of 1100 V and passive cooling. Nominal output current 115.5 A per phase. 5-year warranty.
Eighty kilowatts with twelve strings
This combines powerful generation with high array granularity. Unlike the smaller GW80K-ET-G10 in the hybrid series, there is no battery here — the whole system budget goes into pure generating capacity.
Twelve independent strings are apt precisely at this scale: logistics complexes, large farms with several buildings, industrial facilities with a complex-shaped roof. On such an area a uniform section suited to a simple two-tracker scheme rarely occurs.
Each independent input lets a panel group work at its own optimal point, regardless of the orientation and shading of neighbouring sections — this translates directly into extra percentage points of annual generation on a complex roof.

115 amperes: what it demands of the supply
A current at this level requires a serious check of the site's entire electrical infrastructure — cable of the correct cross-section, a breaker of the right rating, and allocated connection capacity able to take eighty kilowatts without restriction.
For sites with older electrical infrastructure this often means upgrading the distribution board. We always include this check in the technical calculation to avoid hidden costs at the installation stage.
Selling surplus and parallel operation
At eighty kilowatts, generation on a sunny day almost certainly exceeds the site's own daytime consumption, so the terms of selling surplus to the grid are worth costing alongside the station's technical design from the start.
If more than eighty kilowatts is needed, units in this series connect in parallel with automatic load distribution — this scales capacity and simultaneously provides redundancy in the event one unit fails.
Passive cooling and twelve-string monitoring
Natural convection at eighty kilowatts is the same proven platform as the smaller models in the MT series. The absence of fans removes the most common cause of power-electronics failure over years of continuous operation, and the alloy enclosure dissipates heat across its whole area.
The standard SEMS Portal app shows generation from each of the twelve strings separately, history over any period and current efficiency. Modbus TCP and RTU are available for integration with commercial metering systems — allowing quick localisation of exactly which panel group needs inspection.
Eighty kilowatts of generation with twelve independent strings is a solution for a large site with a complex roof. Send us the roof plan and supply parameters: we will prepare a detailed technical configuration calculation.
