GoodWe GW60KS-MT - three-phase grid-tied inverter 60 kW.
Description GoodWe GW60KS-MT
GoodWe GW60KS-MT is a three-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 60 kW with four MPPT inputs of two strings each (eight strings total), a maximum input voltage of 1100 V and passive cooling. Nominal output current 86.6 A per phase. 5-year warranty.
86.6 amperes per phase: what it means for the supply
An output current at this level is a matter not only for the inverter but for the site's entire electrical infrastructure. The cable from inverter to distribution board must be sized for at least this rating with margin for the maximum current of 95.3 amperes.
The circuit breaker in the board is selected to the same figures, and the site's total allocated connection capacity must permit exporting sixty kilowatts to the grid without restriction. This is worth checking at the design stage, not after equipment installation.
For sites with older electrical infrastructure, moving to this level of generation often requires upgrading the distribution board — we always include this check in the technical calculation to avoid hidden costs.

Eight strings for a large array
Sixty kilowatts of panels is already a substantial area, usually spread across several roof sections or even several buildings on one site. Eight independent MPPT strings let each panel group work at its own optimal point without limiting the output of neighbouring groups.
This matters particularly for industrial sites where the roof is complicated by ventilation equipment, chimneys or technical projections — a typical situation for production and warehouse buildings of this scale.
Passive cooling under significant load
Natural convection at sixty kilowatts is a serious engineering achievement, excluding fans from the design entirely. For a unit running around the clock for years on end, this removes the most common cause of power-electronics failure.
The price is care over the mounting location: sufficient free space for natural airflow below and above, and no unshaded direct midday sun in summer.
Monitoring and parallel operation
The standard SEMS Portal app shows generation from each of the eight strings separately. Modbus TCP and RTU are available for integration with commercial metering systems.
When more capacity is needed, units in the series connect in parallel with automatic load distribution, giving both scalability and redundancy in the event of a fault in one unit.
Long strings at 1100 volts
A maximum input voltage of 1100 volts allows long series strings of panels to be formed for an array of this size, reducing operating current on the DC side itself. This does not solve the AC-side cable question discussed above, but it saves substantially on copper on the panel side.
Sixty kilowatts is a level at which the site's entire electrical infrastructure is worth checking in advance. Send us your supply parameters and roof plan: we will check whether the infrastructure is ready for this capacity and calculate the string configuration.
