GoodWe GW50KS-MT - three-phase grid-tied inverter 50 kW.
Description GoodWe GW50KS-MT
GoodWe GW50KS-MT is a three-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 50 kW with four MPPT inputs of two strings each (eight strings total), a maximum input voltage of 1100 V and passive cooling. Nominal output current 72.2 A per phase. 5-year warranty.
Eight strings instead of two: complex roof geometry
Unlike the SDT series at the same fifty kilowatts but with only two MPPT inputs, the GW50KS-MT has four independent inputs of two strings each — eight connection points for the array instead of two.
For a large roof on an industrial or warehouse building this is a critical difference. Such roofs are rarely uniform: different sections, ventilation projections, areas with differing pitch or orientation due to the building's architecture.
Eight independent strings allow the array to be spread across all these sections without losing generation on any of them — each panel group works at its own optimal point regardless of its neighbours.

Passive cooling at fifty kilowatts
Natural convection instead of fans at this output is a non-trivial engineering solution. Heat is dissipated by the massive aluminium enclosure, which is effectively one continuous heatsink.
The benefit for an industrial site is obvious: no fans means no bearings wearing out, no dust in an impeller, no noise. For a unit running around the clock for years, the absence of moving parts removes the most common cause of power-electronics failure.
The price is care over the mounting location. The unit needs free space below and above for airflow and should not be placed where stagnant hot air collects in summer without natural room ventilation.
When to choose the MT series over SDT
Both series deliver fifty kilowatts of rated power, but for different scenarios. SDT with two MPPTs and intelligent cooling suits a simple, uniform roof and a more compact enclosure.
The MT series with eight strings is justified precisely when the array has to be split into many groups — a complex roof, several buildings on one site, panels of differing orientation in one system. The premium for extra trackers pays back through additional generation where a two-tracker arrangement would lose part of the output.
Monitoring and redundancy
The standard SEMS Portal app shows generation from each of the eight strings separately, history over any period and current efficiency. Modbus TCP and RTU are available for integration with commercial metering systems.
When more capacity is needed, units in this series connect in parallel with automatic load distribution. This provides redundancy: if one inverter fails or needs servicing, the rest keep working, and the site does not lose generation entirely.
Eight independent MPPT strings is the answer for a complex roof on an industrial or warehouse site. Send us the roof plan with all its sections: we will lay out the array across trackers so no area loses generation.
