GoodWe GW20K-SDT-30 - three-phase grid-tied inverter 20 kW.
Description GoodWe GW20K-SDT-30
GoodWe GW20K-SDT-30 is a three-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 20 kW with two MPPT inputs, a maximum input voltage of 1100 V and intelligent cooling. Efficiency 98.5%, nominal output current 28.9 A per phase. IP66, 5-year warranty.
Twenty kilowatts without a battery: when it pays best
At the twenty-kilowatt level, generation already noticeably exceeds the daytime consumption of a typical commercial premises. Without a battery, all that surplus either goes to the grid under a feed-in tariff or contract with the energy company, or offsets consumption during peak hours.
For sites with a predictable working schedule — a shop, an office, a warehouse on a fixed timetable — this is the most cost-effective configuration. The whole system budget goes into generating capacity rather than being split between panels and storage.
Payback is the shortest among all system types here: there is no expensive battery amortising over a longer period than the inverter itself, and no losses from double conversion when charging and discharging storage.

Intelligent cooling at a commercial site
The fan switches on only when the power elements' temperature genuinely requires it, rather than running continuously. For a unit installed next to a sales floor or an office, that means no constant background noise during working hours.
During peak summer hours, when load and temperature are highest, cooling engages automatically and returns to quiet mode as soon as the need passes. This extends fan life and keeps a comfortable environment where the unit sits close to people.
Long strings and compact cabling
A maximum input voltage of 1100 volts allows longer panel strings than hybrid models permit. For a twenty-kilowatt array this is a noticeable saving on DC cable cross-section — a longer string means lower operating current at the same power.
IP66 protects the unit against powerful pressure washdown, which is particularly relevant for sites where the area near the wall the inverter is mounted on may be cleaned with pressurised water.
Monitoring and scalability
The standard SEMS Portal app shows generation from each MPPT input separately, history over any period and real-time efficiency. Connectivity covers both Wi-Fi and wired LAN, and Modbus TCP and RTU are available for integration with commercial metering systems.
The thirty-kilogram aluminium enclosure is built for long-term outdoor operation in any weather — from a frosty winter to a hot, humid summer. When more capacity is needed, units in this series connect in parallel, scaling the station without stepping up to heavier industrial equipment.
Twenty kilowatts of grid-tied generation is the fastest way to cut electricity costs for a commercial site. Tell us about your roof area and the tariff terms for selling surplus: we will calculate the system's real payback period.
