GoodWe GW15K-SDT-30 - three-phase grid-tied inverter 15 kW.
Description GoodWe GW15K-SDT-30
GoodWe GW15K-SDT-30 is a three-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 15 kW with two MPPT inputs, a maximum input voltage of 1100 V and intelligent cooling. Efficiency 98.5%, nominal output current 21.7 A per phase. IP66, 5-year warranty.
Intelligent cooling instead of natural convection
On the smaller model in the SDT series (8 kW), cooling is passive. In the GW15K-SDT-30 the manufacturer moves to an intelligent system — the fan does not run continuously but switches on only when component temperature genuinely calls for it.
This is a compromise between two approaches. Fully passive cooling is silent but limited in output. A continuously running fan is noisy but removes more heat. An intelligent system takes the best of both: for most of the time the unit runs quietly, and the fan joins in only during peak summer hours.
The practical consequence for the owner is a longer fan life. It does not spin round the clock but engages as needed, so the part that wears works through its service life far more slowly.

Fifteen kilowatts of grid-tied generation
For a site with no need for backup, a fifteen-kilowatt grid-tied inverter is a serious station, able to substantially cut the electricity bill of a mid-sized commercial premises or a large private house with a workshop.
Since there is no battery, the entire system cost goes straight into panels and installation. For sites with a stable grid this is the fastest route to payback on every hryvnia invested.
The unit remains fully compatible with adding an AC-coupled storage unit later if the need for backup arises — the already installed part will not need reworking.
Long strings at 1100 volts
A maximum input voltage of 1100 volts allows panels to be connected in longer series strings than hybrid models permit. For a fifteen-kilowatt array this means lower operating current and, correspondingly, thinner and cheaper DC cable.
This is especially noticeable in winter: cold weather raises the panels' open-circuit voltage, and the voltage headroom keeps the system safely under the inverter's limit on a frosty, sunny morning.
IP66 protection class and monitoring
IP66 is a class higher than the typical IP65 of hybrid models: the unit is protected not only from water jets in any direction but also from powerful washdown under pressure. For an inverter frequently mounted on an exposed wall or under a canopy, that is extra reliability margin over decades of operation.
The standard SEMS Portal app shows generation from each MPPT input separately, history over any period and real-time efficiency. Connectivity runs over both Wi-Fi and wired LAN, which matters particularly for switchboards in a basement or a technical room with poor router signal.
For integration with external systems, Modbus TCP and RTU are available — allowing the inverter's readings to be combined with an overall energy metering system on a commercial site.
Fifteen kilowatts of grid-tied generation without paying for a battery — a solution for a stable grid and fast payback. Tell us about your roof area and consumption: we will calculate the string configuration for maximum output power.
