GoodWe GW7.5K-MS-G40 - single-phase grid-tied inverter 7.5 kW.
Description GoodWe GW7.5K-MS-G40
GoodWe GW7.5K-MS-G40 is a single-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 7.5 kW with three independent MPPT inputs. Nominal current 32.6 A, maximum output 35.9 A, peak efficiency 97.7%. Mass 19 kg, dimensions 441 × 507 × 210 mm, IP65 protection, 5-year warranty.
Why three inputs rather than two
Moving from two MPPT inputs to three is not an arithmetic increase but a qualitative change in design freedom. A 7.5 kW array consists of roughly eighteen to twenty panels, and placing that many on one or even two slopes is rarely possible.
Three groups can cover a typical complex configuration completely: the main south slope, an additional east or west one, and a third group on an extension, a garage or a roof section with a different pitch. Each works in its own regime without dragging the others down.
There is a more practical argument too. The more groups there are, the smaller the share of the installation affected by any local problem: a shadow from a new chimney, soiling across part of the array, or the failure of a single panel.
Thirty-two amperes: a serious demand on the supply
A nominal current of 32.6 amperes means a supply of at least 40 amperes is required for full operation. That is no longer an ordinary domestic connection — far from every private house has such capacity.
Before ordering it is worth establishing three things: the main breaker rating, the capacity permitted under your agreement with the network operator, and the cross-section of the incoming cable. If even one of these falls short, the installation's full output will remain out of reach.
Sometimes it emerges that increasing the connected capacity costs more than the price difference between this model and the six-kilowatt one. In that case it is wiser to take an inverter your supply can handle without rework.
Technical specifications
peak efficiency 97.7%, European weighted 97.2%;
three independent MPPT inputs, tracking accuracy above 99%;
maximum input voltage 600 V, start-up voltage 80 V;
output harmonic distortion below 3%;
noise level under 30 dB, natural-convection cooling;
operation from −25 to +60 °C, humidity to 100%, altitude to 4000 m.
On mass and fixing
Nineteen kilograms is the level at which the choice of position needs serious thought. The unit is lifted by two people, and the wall must be solid: brick, concrete, or aerated concrete with through-fixings.
Dimensions of 441 × 507 × 210 mm are substantial too. Make sure in advance that space remains around the inverter for natural convection — it must not be pressed tight against other structures, otherwise cooling suffers and output falls with it on hot days.
Protection and monitoring
Integrated DC switch, Type II surge protection on the panel and grid sides, earth fault monitoring, protection against reverse polarity and short circuit, and an all-pole sensitive residual current monitoring unit.
Monitoring over Wi-Fi or wired LAN through the SEMS Portal app, integration via Modbus TCP/RTU, Home Assistant support. Certification: CE, IEC 62109-1/2, IEC 62116, IEC 61727, EN 50549.
When choosing a model of this rating, checking the supply should come first rather than last. Send us a photo of the incoming board and a copy of your network agreement — we will tell you whether the connection will take the installation's full output.
