GoodWe GW6000-DNS-30 - single-phase grid-tied inverter 6 kW.
Description GoodWe GW6000-DNS-30
GoodWe GW6000-DNS-30 is a single-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 6 kW, the most powerful model in the DNS series. Two independent MPPT inputs, peak efficiency 98%, nominal current 26.1 A, maximum output 28.7 A. Mass 12.8 kg, dimensions 350 × 410 × 143 mm, IP65 protection, 5-year warranty.
Six kilowatts on one phase: the limit of comfort
This is the rating at which a single-phase connection still works without strain but is approaching its practical limit. A nominal current of 26.1 amperes means the supply must be at least 32 amperes — otherwise full output will remain theoretical.
Above six kilowatts on a single phase, complications appear: loading on the neutral conductor rises, network imbalance grows, and some operators impose additional connection requirements. Many designers therefore treat this rating as the natural upper limit for a single-phase domestic installation.
The same enclosure as the 3.6 kW model
The entire DNS series shares a single housing: 12.8 kg and 350 × 410 × 143 mm for models from 3.6 to 6 kW. Only the power rating changes, while wall space, bracket and installation effort stay the same.
The practical conclusion for design work: the power decision can be refined right up to the point of ordering without altering any preparation. If precise calculation shows more panels will fit than planned, moving to a larger model entails no rework.
When six kilowatts is justified
a house with air conditioning — in summer it runs precisely when the installation generates most, consuming the energy on site;
an electric water heater — heating water during the day on your own generation instead of the night tariff;
a pool with a filtration pump — a sustained daytime load that maps perfectly onto the solar curve;
a large roof area — where there is room for fifteen panels, limiting the installation makes no sense;
a workshop or small business with a daytime working cycle.
What two MPPT inputs deliver
Fifteen panels rarely fit on one slope. Two independent inputs allow the array to be split and both sides of the roof, or slopes of differing pitch, to be used.
The effect shows in more than peak generation. Groups of differing orientation produce a flatter curve across the day: the eastern one works in the morning, the western in the evening. For an owner consuming the energy at home that is more valuable than a high, brief midday peak, because a greater share goes to their own needs.
Technical basis and protection
Peak efficiency 98.0%, European weighted 97.3%, MPPT tracking accuracy above 99%. MPP voltage range 40–560 V, start-up voltage 80 V, maximum input 600 V. Harmonic distortion below 3%, noise level under 25 dB.
Integrated DC switch, Type II surge protection on both sides, earth fault monitoring, protection against reverse polarity and short circuit. IP65 protection, aluminium alloy housing, operation from −25 to +60 °C.
Monitoring over Wi-Fi or LAN through the SEMS Portal app, integration via Modbus TCP/RTU, Home Assistant support. Certification: CE, IEC 62109-1/2, IEC 62116, IEC 61727, EN 50549.
Before ordering the six-kilowatt model it is worth checking the supply rating and the roof area. Send us those details — we will tell you whether your connection will take full output and how best to divide the panels between the two inputs.
