GoodWe GW10K-MS-G40 - single-phase grid-tied inverter 10 kW.
Description GoodWe GW10K-MS-G40
GoodWe GW10K-MS-G40 is a single-phase grid-tied inverter rated at 10 kW with three independent MPPT inputs. This is the maximum power it makes sense to bring out on a single phase, and at the same time the most flexible configuration in the series. Mass 19 kg, dimensions 441 × 507 × 210 mm, IP65 protection, 5-year warranty.
Three MPPT inputs are the model's principal advantage
Each input tracks its maximum power point independently of the others. In practice that means the panel array can be split into three groups, each working in its own optimal regime.
Why is that needed? Real roofs are rarely ideal. One slope faces south-east, another south-west. Morning sun lights one section, evening sun the other. A chimney casts a shadow over a few panels at certain hours. A tree beside the house shades the bottom row in winter when the sun sits low.
With one input, all these irregularities drag the installation down to its worst section. With three inputs the shaded group drops on its own while the other two carry on at full output. On a complex roof the difference in annual generation reaches tens of per cent.
Ten kilowatts on a single phase
This is the upper limit of what is sensible for a single-phase connection. Nominal current at 230 volts is 43.5 amperes, with a maximum output of 47.8 amperes.
These figures should be checked against your supply before ordering. If the house is connected through a 40 ampere breaker, a 10 kilowatt inverter simply will not be able to deliver full power — and part of the money invested in panels will not work. This is a check that takes five minutes, while the consequences of getting it wrong run for years.
Nineteen kilograms: what that changes for installation
Compared with the smaller models in the series at 4.6 kg, this unit is noticeably heavier. That is not critical, but it calls for attention to two things.
First, the wall. Nineteen kilograms on a bracket is a load that aerated concrete or plasterboard without through-fixings will not hold in the long run. Second, installation by two people: lifting and precisely seating a unit of this mass on a bracket single-handed is awkward and unsafe.
Technical figures
peak efficiency 97.7%, European weighted 97.2%;
MPPT tracking accuracy above 99%;
maximum input voltage 600 V, start-up 80 V;
output harmonic distortion below 3%;
noise level under 30 dB, natural-convection cooling;
operation from −25 to +60 °C, humidity to 100%, altitude to 4000 m.
Protection and connection
Integrated DC switch, Type II surge protection on both sides, earth fault monitoring, reverse polarity and short circuit protection, and an all-pole sensitive residual current monitoring unit. Panels connect through MC4 connectors, the grid through a terminal block.
Communication over Wi-Fi or wired LAN, control through the SEMS Portal app. Integration over Modbus TCP/RTU and operation with Home Assistant are supported. Certification: CE, IEC 62109-1/2, IEC 62116, IEC 61727, EN 50549.
Before ordering the ten-kilowatt model it is worth checking two things: the rating of your single-phase supply and the roof configuration. Send us those details — we will calculate whether the installation can deliver its full output and how best to divide the panels between the three inputs.
