The Smart Hybrid Light badge means this dome carries two illuminators at once — 850 nm infrared LEDs and a white spotlight — and decides on its own which of them to use. During ordinary night operation the invisible IR array does the work and the recording stays monochrome; the moment the on-board analytics classify movement as a person or a vehicle, the white light fires and the frame turns full colour. That difference decides cases rather than just looking nicer: a monochrome clip proves that somebody was there, while a colour clip gives the jacket colour, the car colour and the body style — exactly the attributes police and insurers work with. There is also a deterrent effect that owners often rate first: a sudden burst of bright light tells the visitor plainly that he has been seen, and a fair share of attempts on a house or a parked car end right there.
