DH-IPC-HDBW3441E-AS-S2 combines a 50 m illumination range with built-in people and vehicle recognition — a combination the same lineup's DH-IPC-HDW3441EM-S-S2 doesn't have (that one gets the long-range illuminator but no recognition). If a site's grounds are large and it also needs actual object classification in frame rather than just motion capture, this model covers both needs at once, with no trade-off favoring one over the other.

The classic dome design (as opposed to an eye-ball with a movable module) has a low profile and a tidy look that fits well into a commercial interior or building facade. A 107° viewing angle covers a wide zone with a single unit, and a 1/3" CMOS sensor delivers 4 MP of detail.

Fewer false triggers thanks to object recognition

Since the camera distinguishes a person or vehicle from unrelated objects (swaying branches, animals, shadows), alerts arrive specifically about real movement in frame rather than every leaf stirring in the wind. That matters especially for sites with large open ground, where without this filtering the number of false alarms from a 50 m illuminator could be substantial.

PoE 802.3af power at 7.3 W

The camera runs on PoE to the 802.3af standard (12V), drawing 7.3 W — slightly more than the version without object recognition, due to the added real-time video processing load. The metal, IP67-rated housing withstands temperatures from -40°C to +60°C, suiting year-round outdoor installation in any climate.

A microphone, SD card up to 256 GB, and ONVIF/FTP protocols

A built-in microphone captures audio synchronized with video, and a 256 GB SD card slot gives a local archive independent of the network. ONVIF, RTSP, FTP, and SFTP support let the camera connect to recorders and VMS platforms from different manufacturers with no extra converters.

2 illumination diodes and 112×111.7×89.1 mm dimensions

A doubled count of infrared illumination diodes (2 instead of the typical 1) is exactly why the illumination range reaches 50 m rather than the typical 30 m. The 112×111.7×89.1 mm housing at 516 g is somewhat larger than the base version without object recognition, due to added video-processing components.

0.6 A current draw and a 25 fps frame rate

Current draw of roughly 0.6 A is worth factoring in when connecting several cameras to one power-limited PoE switch. A 25 fps frame rate is the standard figure, giving smooth motion playback with no "jumps" between frames when reviewing the archive.

A dome build — a choice favoring discretion

Unlike the bullet variants in the same lineup with a clearly visible viewing direction, the dome housing doesn't reveal to onlookers exactly where the camera is pointed. For sites where it matters not to give away hints about "blind spots" outside the field of view, that's a real practical advantage, not just an aesthetic choice.
