DigiTOP VP-32A M2W voltage relay (32A, white indicator)

A voltage surge in the network lasts a fraction of a second, and the bill for the consequences can reach the cost of a new refrigerator, TV or boiler with an electronic board. DigiTOP VP-32A M2W exists precisely to avoid this bill: the relay continuously monitors the voltage in the 220 V network and instantly cuts off the load as soon as it goes beyond safe limits. The rating of 32 A makes it a logical choice for an apartment or a small house with moderate consumption.

How it makes decisions

The relay measures voltage in a wide range of 50–400 V and reacts to two thresholds: upper (adjustable within 210–270 V) and lower (120–200 V). The operation logic is designed for real network behavior. When the upper threshold is exceeded, the shutdown is instantaneous — 0.02 seconds, because it is a sharp voltage jump that is most dangerous for electronics. But when the voltage drops, the relay deliberately does not rush: in the range of 120–170 V, it withstands a second pause so as not to jerk the equipment due to short-term "failures" that occur, for example, when a neighbor turns on a welding machine. And only when the voltage drops below 120 V, the shutdown becomes instantaneous again.

The most dangerous thing is zero break

Separately, it is worth mentioning the zero transit function. A break in the neutral conductor in a worn-out network is not an abstract horror story: at this moment the voltage in the phase can jump far beyond 300 V, and then not one device, but everything plugged into the sockets, burns out at the same time. The relay monitors this situation and de-energizes the line before mass damage can occur. In addition, it works correctly at unstable frequencies - useful where power comes from a generator.

How much is it in kilowatts and how to set it?

32 A at 220 V is approximately 7 kW of total load. For a typical apartment with a refrigerator, washing machine, boiler and lighting operating at the same time, this is enough. The relay is mounted on a standard DIN rail and takes up only 2 modules of 17.5 mm - it is placed immediately after the input circuit breaker so that the entire network is protected by one device. The re-activation delay is adjustable within 5–600 seconds: this pause saves the refrigerator and air conditioner compressors from damage during a sharp restart. Thermal protection operates at 70°C. A voltage relay is not a stabilizer.

A common confusion that should be clarified. A voltage relay does not equalize the voltage - it monitors it and turns off the power when the parameters are dangerous. A stabilizer, on the contrary, tries to "pull" the voltage to normal, but it costs more, takes up space and is itself a consumer. In practice, for most homes, a relay is enough: it protects against emergency surges, and modern equipment tolerates small fluctuations within the normal range without any problems. A stabilizer makes sense only for individual sensitive devices where the voltage is chronically low. So if the goal is to protect equipment from accidents, and not to deal with a constant "shortage" of voltage, the DigiTOP relay solves the problem more simply and cheaply.
