Tips for choosing a solar inverter in 2026

In 2026, the market is really dynamic: due to frequent blackouts, people are actively looking for the best inverters. Let's break down the main points point by point, based on recent market data, installer feedback and independent opinions. I don't want to impose a specific brand, but I will simply share the facts to help you navigate.

Is DEYE really one of the biggest brands in Ukraine, but not the highest quality?

Yes, DEYE is indeed the leader in sales volumes in Ukraine in 2026. According to some sellers, the share of installations in favor of Deye is 70–80% of new home solar power plants . But in terms of quality, not everything is so simple here.

Independent tests show DEYE efficiency at 98.6%, which is higher than many competitors. They have metal cases, improved cooling and withstand heat better than, for example, PowerMR , MUST and other "budget" ones. From the practice of individual installers , DEYE break infrequently - in 2025-2026, only 2% of returns were due to overheating. But I personally have a different experience, and that is why this brand is absent from our online store.

Daye

If we talk about "not the best quality", then this is subjective: for budget projects DEYE is top, but there is no talk of a premium segment. SMA or Fronius , or even equipment of a lower class - Solplanet , GoodWe , SunGrow - provide longer trouble-free operation.

DEYE is among the top 10 global manufacturers thanks to its 3–80 kW hybrid models. For Ukraine with its unstable grid, this is a worthy choice. But if the budget is larger or, conversely, limited, there are alternatives.

A separate issue is service and official distribution. In Ukraine, there are many sellers who position themselves as official representatives of the brand with their own service. Every second seller on OLX considers themselves an official distributor and promises an official guarantee. But in practice, this equipment is imported "gray" or smuggled by private individuals who cannot even afford a website, let alone a service center. It is imported without paying taxes and any registration in Ukraine. So many questions arise regarding such warranty obligations.

From the experience of communicating with the managers of the Deye factory, I can say one thing: there is no official guarantee in Ukraine. And what local sellers offer, they do at their own risk, laying it in the cost. If the price of the inverter is too attractive, you can be sure that you are buying it without any guarantees. So buying a Deye inverter is to some extent a roulette. In fairness, it is worth saying that this applies not only to this brand. But this is the most common problem with Deye .

Growatt is an order of magnitude better than DEYE?

I have to disagree here, because the data says otherwise. A comparison of Growatt and DEYE (based on installer forums and tests) shows that DEYE is slightly superior in efficiency (98.6% vs. 98.4%), thermal management, and durability.

Growatt is sometimes cheaper, but has some problems: in 2024–2025 the company had financial difficulties, some engineers left, which affected the quality. Reviews on DIY forums advise avoiding Growatt for off-grid systems due to frequent failures during starting currents. DEYE , on the other hand, is “in a different league of quality.”

But these are outside opinions, and if you want to hear mine, we had much fewer problems with these inverters than with Deye . And I like them at least because they bothered with integration with Home Assistant , and Deye - No! And this already speaks of care for the user and an innovative approach. By the way - Deye also integrates into automation systems, but it does not work out of the box. And Growatt also has several premium series.

Growatt

If someone says Growatt is "an order of magnitude better", it may be their experience with a specific model. In 2026, Growatt is still popular due to its price, but for long-term use (10+ years) I would choose Solplanet ).

Solplanet, GoodWe on the Ukrainian market - better quality than Solax and Deye?

I absolutely agree that Solplanet and GoodWe are worth paying attention to — they are gaining momentum in Ukraine thanks to European standards and local service.

Solplanet is a brand of AISWEI (former supplier for SMA ) with efficiency of 98.5%+ and protection IP66. In reviews - reliable and affordable, but without a display. As of early 2026, compared to DEYE , Solplanet is more expensive and less common in Ukraine, the service is still developing. For operation in shaded conditions, their hybrid models ( ASW H-T2/T3 ) with 2–3 MPPT are an excellent option, up to 18 kW PV.

Solplanet

GoodWe is a Tier-1 manufacturer with over 100 GW of installed capacity globally. New ET G2 models (6–15 kW) for homes withstand 50°C, are compatible with Bosch systems and smart homes. Efficiency is 97–98%, strong support in Ukraine. In comparison , Solplanet and GoodWe are indeed better than Solax and Deye . According to reviews, there are fewer complaints about breakdowns, better comfort of use and service, as well as better adaptation to Ukrainian networks.

GoodWe

Solax and Deye are suitable for simple systems, but for complex systems , GoodWe and Solplanet are better at a similar price. Both brands come with a 10-year warranty on their equipment.

Ultra-budget Chinese subcategory: MUST, PowMr, Anenji and Anern

These are “popular” hybrid models 24/48 V with a capacity of 3–10 kW, which are currently actively sold in Ukraine. All of them are completely Chinese development without a European OEM (unlike Solplanet or GoodWe ). The main philosophy is cheap and angry.

Briefly about each brand

MUST Power — already analyzed earlier as the “leader of the budget segment”. The most famous of this four, the PH18/EP30 model. Plus: the best parallel operation (up to 9 pcs.), proven for years. Minus: noisy fan, efficiency 0.5% lower than PowMr.

PowMr (PowerMR) is the most popular on the marketplaces (POW-HVM models 3.2–6.2 kW). Pros: Wi-Fi included, MPPT up to 500 V, very cheap. Cons: frequent complaints about “surprises” after delivery (a little noisy, sometimes needs flashing), weaker protection against overheating. Ideal for a test solar power plant “for 1–2 years”.

Anenji is the hottest newcomer of 2025–2026 (4.2 kW 24 V and 6.2 kW 48 V models). Pros: Wi-Fi built in out of the box, two outputs (critical + non-critical load), quieter than PowMr, good tests on YouTube for winter blackouts. Cons: few real cases for 3+ years, service only through dealers.

Anern (EVO series SCI-EVO 4.2–10.2 kW) is a bit of an “older brother” in this group. Pros: powerful secondary output, holds peaks well, positive reviews about stability in the heat. Cons: Wi-Fi is often separate, a bit more expensive than Anenji/PowMr, battery compatibility is not always 100% without additional settings.

Updated rating for Ukraine 2026

  1. DEYE , Solax, Growatt — the optimal balance for most. A decent budget option.

  2. MUST / PowMr / Anenji / Anern — ultra-budget, when money is limited, but more than the minimum is needed.

  3. GoodWe / Solplanet / Huawei / SMA / Fronius / Victron / SunGrow — premium.

Conclusion

If your budget allows, choose Solplanet or GoodWe and sleep peacefully for 10–15 years. If you want to get into solar energy as cheaply as possible (for example, 4–6 kW + 5–10 kWh battery) — PowMr or Anenji 6.2 kW 48 V will be the best option in this subcategory. They really save during blackouts, but after 2–3 years, you will probably want to switch to something more reliable. Be prepared for such nuances as noise.

Write, call — we'll figure it out. The market of 2026 allows almost everyone to find their inverter. The main thing is not to buy "blindly" at the lowest price.

Result

DEYE is the leader in popularity in Ukraine due to the balance of price and quality. If you are looking for a better alternative, GoodWe and Solplanet are premium choices for reasonable money. Next on the list are Growatt and Solax (I would put them next to each other). And finally, premium SMA and Fronius for powerful and most reliable projects.
